Case Study Charley:
Six months ago, a sweet 22 yr young Missouri Fox Trotter was unable to stand let alone walk( see comments for picture). According to the owner, "Charley's last trim was not so good for him" and she was considering euthanasia because Charley had foundered his FR in the past. She didn't know what to do and didnt want to put him through another rehab if he was going to hurt. She messaged me and I had just starting my case studies. I suggested right away to call her vet, and let's get him in a cast( helps support pulled laminae, etc.) since he cannot wear shoes and boots were rubbing him raw! However, Charlie could not lift his legs. His stifles were shuttering! I suggested I come over and give him a benifical massage and myo fascia release which can improve blood circulation and activate the central nervous system into a parasympathetic(rest) state. She said yes, it was her last ditch effort because she didn't want him suffering. Once he was relaxed from the 2 hour bodywork session I gave him, we were able to lift his feet and we casted him! We both teared up as Charlie walked a lil out to the paddock. The video here was a gait analysis two months later. I have been seeing Charlie every 3 weeks to work on his feet and bodywork rehab. He's not in pain and well on his way to recovery
